All nations on one flag

Color The World

This project is a response to my experiences in New York after the terror-attacks on September 11th, 2001. The sight of the cities covered with the American flag had a tremendous impact on me. It made America’s solidarity, patriotism and courage apparent to me. At the same time, it evoked in me a feeling of conservatism that can also draw psychological lines that can make a foreigner feel alienated.

In this work, national icons are placed next to one another in geographical order to make one flag. This flag helps viewers to visualize where you are in the big family of nations, where they are on the earth.
