Cut-Out Newspaper Series

Minding My Own Business
(The New York Times)

Inspired by headline articles in The New York Times, “Minding My Own Business (The New York Times)” portrays newspapers as a sculptural landscape of daily information. Sprouts grow from the stories on the surface of the newspaper, giving a new narrative and life, while remembering what has been witnessed in the past.

The sprouts reflect my own personal and emotional perceptions, responding to the article. The original page-one photographs are cut-out and transformed. The stories of these passing, everyday articles are retained and stay in slow motion with the growing life.
